How to video evaluation
Evaluation for How
to video
When
approaching this how to video I came up with a few ideas for what to make and
see which would stick and which would not. One idea that I had which I decided
not to do was “how to solve a maths equation”, this came about because I enjoy
maths and have some knowledge and could explain how to answer a question.
However I realised that it would not be practical for a video as it would not
have me doing much rather than just writing down my working out and some narration,
so it would be less appealing as a viewer to watch that. So I decided to change to my other idea which
was “how to do football skills” which would be a more practical video to
produce. So I began to storyboard my concept for the video, so when shooting I
would be prepared on the day. Once completing the storyboard I began to plan my
shoot and where it would take place so I looked at a few locations and my best
option was a park as I would have more space and a frame of a goal to use for
one of the skills I was going to do.
A weakness
of was some of the angles I used for the skills part of my video as I only had
one from the front and one from the side, so to improve the video I could have
more camera angles to make clear the action I was doing. Another weakness I had
was the editing as I had quite quick transitions between scenes and you have to
make sure the audience is following the video. A strength of the video is the
intro as it sets the tone for the video. Another Strength was the different
skills on show as I show as I many as I could whilst making sure they were
explained. I showed some peers my video and I got their opinions, one said that
the intro captivated them and made them chuckle a little which was my aim as in
the video it is me getting tackled as I created a build-up. Another strength
they said was that had scenarios for failing a skill so it can help them
understand how to do a trick right.
What I would
do differently next time is planning my location more in advance as I wold have
preferred having a goal with nets so for my shooting skills it would have been
an improvement visually. Another element I would done differently was having
more actors involved so I could show more if the skills however the video was
only limited to around minutes. Something else I would have wanted to improve
is the cinematography as some of my shots that were filmed on the day could have
been shot a higher quality but I did not have someone else behind the camera
who is knowledgeable in filming and I was the main subject of the how to video.
So I would have asked someone else to help with filming from my class. To make
it more professional visually was to have an aim on certain parts of the shot
while blurring the background which is common technique used for filming.
Another element to improve the image is changing the tint or colour of the clip
in post-production which would add a style to it, I did some for my video as I
added more saturation which helped add more quality to the image. To have processional
sound you would need to use better sound equipment for example if you have
narration you would use a microphone, another element to improve the sound
could be adjusting the levels in post-production so the levels would be
adjusted so it is all clear. It would not fully compare to a commercially
produced video as it would be longer than a commercial video and there is a
more variety of camera angles as there is use of multi-camera compared to my
video where I only had one camera. Also a professional video would be aimed at
a specific different audience while mine is more aimed at general football fans
who want to learn skills or someone who has barely played and wants to learn
more about skills and see someone else show them.

Legal and ethical Sheet
Copyright is the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material. This means that if you published the work yourself you now own it and you can set terms if someone else wants to re- use your work and post it on an interactive media device they can if they pay for the rights. An example of this in a film, a song is used and the studio would have to ask permission of the artist and pay a fee. It was created by the law of a country that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. It is a form of Intellectual property as refers to creations of the intellect for which a monopoly is assigned to designated owners by law.
An example of something that I might include in my video which would be subject to copyright is music, this is because someone else would have produced the material and To have rights to use it i would have to contact the artist and pay a fee. This is the most common type of copyright infringement as music helps elevate a video and most of the bets music to use is someone else's and producing a song would be a much harder task.
Another thing that would be subject to copyright is footage from other user-generated videos or any other content as this could be helped to demonstrate a point after using voice-over. This is also a another major use which many users have been subject to. Youtube has a system which detects use of video and could be taken down.
My last example is text which could be copied from another source and Would have to give credit by naming the source of where it came from otherwise the original writer of the text can claim copyright. The text would come from research about a subject and The key thing is to make sure I present the content in my own words to show I have knowledge about the subject.

A website that gives copyright free music is http://www.premiumbeat.com/ it is curated royalty free music website that provides exclusive, high-quality tracks and sound effects for use in new and traditional media projects, including videos, films, apps, games, and television programming. It is trusted by the big and leading companies. The other example of a royalty free music website is bensound.com, He is an artist who composes free music that can be used without having to pay for the rights, the creator is called Benjamin TISSOT, a Composer and Musician based in France who has been writing music for more than 10 years. His was featured in projects from animations, corporate videos, commercials to short films and documentaries.
Location release form is a binding contract between the photographer/cameraman and the owner of a private property whereby the owner of the property grants written permission to shoot a movie, video, commercial, photography or similar productions on the owner's property. The form would give details on where he/she will be completing the project a form would look like this.
A contributor release form could be Generally, contributors consent to being filmed and their contributions broadcast when they agree to be filmed, on the basis of the information they have been given. Release forms do not constitute the consent itself but, rather, are merely evidence of consent having been given. To avoid confusion, it may be sensible to ask contributors to sign their release forms before filming takes place. So they need to be asked before being filmed otherwise the cameraman/group would get into a trouble, a form looks like something like this.
