I looked on media week for a reference on the type of jobs there are available. I went to the section of advertising which has the highest amount of jobs. I chose the promoted job.
This job requires a huge amount of information and qualities to be able to get this job. There is no specific type of qualification you need but they are more concerned with your ability to be able to do the job and not just have the paperwork in the cv. However it has a list for qualifications which include "Drive for Results" , "Intellectual Capacity" "Customer Focus", "
Action Oriented". It then has a paragraph describing each bullet point so the employee knows what each statement means and to know if they have these features. Technical skills are also needed for the job as ICT skills are needed for the job as you would be working with computers all the time and watching over other people also working with computers. Though a key statement is in education where it states that you need qualifications in degree level so a degree in a certain field. Senior Sales Executive

ER Recruitment is working with one the largest multimedia comapanies in the UK and currently has a a Senior Media Sales role to fill.
The position covers almost every aspect of the portfolio and provides an opportunity to sell across a variety of revenue streams to include display, digital, sponsorship and creative solutions
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities:
Revenue & management
- Responsible for hitting & exceeding monthly budgets
- Management of personal pipeline & forecasting
- Accurate weekly and ad-hoc forecasting & pipeline reporting to Ad Manager
- Annual sales planning & strategy with quarterly updates & revisions
- Work closely with editorial on planning and new initiatives
- Work closely with design and product development on new digital products
- Responsible for sales collateral and development of sales story
- Work closely with design on best of breed presentations and pitches
- Assisting in development of cross-media strategy and sales collateral
- Chasing copy where appropriate & full responsibility for all client & agency liaison
- Ongoing competitor analysis
- Develop strong understanding of competitor brands across print & online
- best practice to follow up, generate new business and increase market share
- Identify new clients & sectors to target
- Develop new ideas/areas on the sites
- New business pitching – both client direct & agency
- Liaising with production, editorial, design, Ad Ops
- Ensuring Filemaker is 100% accurate & up to date at all times
- Ensuring all confirmations are correct & filed centrally & accessibly
- Liaising with Accounts re Filemaker & invoice queries
- Feedback of all relevant market intelligence to team & business
- Attend trade & consumer shows where appropriate & feedback intelligence to wider team
- Ongoing analysis of gardening market & competitors, working closely with Insight
- Analysing & reporting shifts in market into online/mobile/competition
- Attending all relevant company meetings
- Attend trade & consumer shows
- Meeting & presenting to clients & agencies
- Attend weekly edit/ads update meets
- Ensure files are up to date and can be used by anyone at anytime including:
- Agency and client strategies
- Renewals
- Competitor leads
- Ensure all campaigns are booked correctly onto the system, and as soon as the booking is confirmed
